But concretely, what is it ?

Slow made is a movement whose objective is to rehabilitate the value of time in order to produce better, work better and consume better.

This movement was launched in 2012, and is supported by the National Furniture and the National Institute of Crafts  This movement encourages a responsible ethic of the author and the producer. The objective of Slow made is therefore to raise awareness and promote the creative professions.

The values of slow made

This concept of Slow Made is based on many values:

  • Research: the time of design and reflection, experimentation and production, dialogue and exchange
  • The gesture: a production that masters the know-how. Knowledge of the inherited or innovative gesture.
  • Practice: linked to sustainable development, human work, traditional or innovative materials and tools
  • Transmission: a commitment to transmit the values attached to the culture of time and know-how
  • Appropriation: the buyer becomes a responsible, informed and knowledgeable player, himself a bearer of values to be shared and transmitted
  • The fair price: the Slow Made object is sold at a price that takes into account the development and manufacturing time

Slow Made opposes the disposable consumption model with a sustainable model aimed at producing less and better. It wishes to engage the economic actors of know-how towards a "patient development" where the time necessary for growth (research and production) is taken into consideration and valued. In this context, we work in close collaboration with our factories and partners (ENSCI for example) in order to enforce this principle, and aim to offer you high quality products at the right price.

At a time when everything is going faster, adopting thoughtful, meticulous and qualitative manufacturing is a real asset.
