This is an important element to feel good at home, in your body and to recharge your batteries by taking the time to relax.

This is all the more true in the current context where we spend a lot of time at home, we move less and we can put our health aside.

Whatever the age, our body needs these moments of rest and relaxation to recharge its batteries and relieve any pain. Contrary to popular belief, a relaxation armchair is not reserved for seniors, far from it!

In your interior, it is the best ally of well-being, and that for everyone. Designers, suppliers and manufacturers are constantly seeking to optimize comfort and customization in order to adapt to everyone's needs.

This is why we can find a whole series of very different options and characteristics depending on the chair chosen.

These different characteristics are present in order to promote the relaxation and well-being of the user:

  • Headrest: non-existent, fixed, removable or disengageable
  • Footrest: separate or integrated, visible or internal
  • Structure: fixed, 360° swivel, on wheels, etc.
  • Mechanism: manual, electric on mains or with battery option; 1 or more motors to activate relaxing functions independently or not
  • Armrests: Raised, flared, non-existent

What needs do you have and how do you want to use your relax armchair?

A relaxation armchair can be used for individuals as well as for professionals.

Whether for your personal interior to feel good at home, for relaxation areas in companies or to create a moment of relaxation in a psychologist's office for example, the recliner remains relevant!

On a daily basis, we all feel the need to relax, to recharge our batteries.

In the relaxed position, even pathological back tensions are relieved.

How to make a choice?

There are many types of relaxation armchairs, so your choice should be made according to your needs and the characteristics of these different chairs.

The design armchair

The design relaxation chair is mainly for those who wish to combine comfort and elegance. Its presence will give new life and real character to your living room or any other room in which you place it. It is the perfect chair if you do not necessarily suffer from back pain, but still want to be perfectly installed to read a book, watch television.

In two words: for a moment of relaxation.

One of the models that can suit this type of need is the NAOS model at My New Design, several leather colors to adapt to different internons and prederences  a wide headrest to rest comfortably and an associated footrest to stretch the legs.

The manual relaxation armchair

Another option is the classic manual relaxation chair. A version less design than the previous one but just as functional.

For example, the ATHOS can perfectly correspond to relax. The manual relaxation armchairs, at least those of My New Design, remain easily movable which offers a certain freedom in their use.

For the ATHOS model as for many of them, it is possible to adjust the headrest manually to adapt to the morphology, and to tilt the backrest in order to take full advantage of the comfort that this type of armchair can offer.

The Electric relaxation armchair

At the same time, electric relaxation chairs can suit you just as well. They are purely created for relaxation and make your life easier with perfect comfort.

They can have one or more motors (like our SATURNE model with two motors) allowing either an overall relaxing position, or independently for the back and legs. It therefore adapts to all body types, allows you to adapt to your use easily and without moving, often thanks to the use of a small remote control.

The massage and/or heated chair

If you are of a very stressed nature, and your moments of relaxation must correspond to a moment in your bubble completely cut off from the outside world, a massage chair can undoubtedly be relevant. It will not replace a physiotherapist, but it can still relieve you by staying at home.

The lift armchair

The principle of a lift chair is to facilitate the transition from sitting to standing. It mainly accompanies people with reduced mobility, the elderly or anyone who has difficulty getting up or sitting down due to certain pains.

This relax chair is not reserved for seniors, contrary to popular belief. It may be the perfect solution for someone coming out of the hospital, or for someone with chronic back pain. Thanks to the accompaniment of the movement, it allows you to get up easily without having to use your abs, without straining your knees or your arms.

The LOKHOS model, a lift chair made up of 2 motors, allows you to go from a very lying position to a standing position very easily, but also to manipulate the backrest and the footrest independently.
